Dry Season, Cirebon City Police Distribute 13,000 Liters of Clean Water

ARAH PANTURA, Cirebon – The Cirebon City Police Chief, AKBP M. Rano Hadiyanto, distributed 13,000 liters of clean water to the residents of Banjarwangunan Village, Mundu District, Cirebon Regency, on Monday (9/9/2024).
This initiative was a response to the clean water crisis experienced by residents due to the prolonged drought and extreme weather.
The clean water distribution took place at the Banjarwangunan Village Football Field and was attended by several officials from the Cirebon Police and Sub-district Police, including Mundu District Head Novi Komalasari, Mundu Sub-district Police Chief IPTU Didi Sumardi, a representative from Danramil 0620-11 Asjap, and local village officials.
Cirebon City Police Chief, AKBP M. Rano Hadiyanto, stated that residents of Banjarwangunan Village were facing difficulties in accessing clean water because their wells had dried up due to the prolonged drought.
“A total of 19 blocks or approximately 1,172 households are affected by the clean water crisis in this village,” said Rano.
The clean water distribution was carried out directly in the field, with residents bringing buckets and jerry cans to collect the water.
“For residents living far from the location, the water was delivered directly to their respective blocks,” Rano added.
Rano expressed hope that this clean water assistance would help alleviate the residents’ daily needs, such as cooking and bathing.
The Chairperson of Banjarwangunan Village LPM, Deni Saputra, expressed his gratitude to the Cirebon City Police for the assistance.
“We are very thankful for this help. The residents are in great need of clean water for their daily needs,” he said.
Deni explained that the Community-Based Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Program (PAMSIMAS) in Banjarwangunan Village had not yet been operational due to the lack of electricity to power the water pumps.
“The assistance from the Cirebon City Police is extremely meaningful for the residents of Banjarwangunan Village who are currently facing a clean water crisis,” he concluded. (HSY)
